George Speaks

Click the picture below to see a short video clip of George Cowley's thoughts on his
celebrity status:

Usually a man of many words, George has contributed this brief passage to our website:

I'm the Herbert the GCE band is named after. I'm 67, a bachelor, live alone (I like my space*),
have several good female friends (but no bed-partner). For the past 12 years I ger a very regular 6
letters a week in "Worcester Evening News". I've also over the years won prizes in "Punch" (now sadly defunct)
and "New Statesman" (I won £35 about 6 weeks ago in "NS"). I spent most of my 20's and 30's in hospital
with manic depression (but that is past history). Thank God (and I regularly now go to church) I feel much better
nowadays. I'd like another 20 years at least on this old earth, before I go "up there".
It is quite head-swelling to have a local band named after me.

* Also, I just cannot afford a woman on £105.76p per week - think of all those hair-dos.
