Ride Again launch night.
A friendly bunch of Cowleyites came together tonight for an evening of music and fun.
Current band members and helpers joined family friends and devotees for three hours of GCE madness and mayhem.
In addition to several live renditions of mainly new but the occasional old Cowley toons we had a guest performance from local singer/songwriter Guy Martyr.
Chief Cowleyite, (MC) Pete Unwin, ensured in his own inimitable way that the evening went off with a smile.
We were entertained by some great, solo performances by Paul McDonald, Lee Badham and George Clarke,
plus Pete Unwin and Tom Pope; each working out with their own material.
A George Cowley quiz was (allegedly) won by team 'Rosie Lee' (Lee being a band member!!)
I think a bit of insider dealing and knowledge prevailed over the fan based entries!! - cries of fix and cheat soon dwindled when MC PC
once again took over the 'mic' and continued with the musical onslaught.
Posters and huge sales of the odd T shirts (or was that 'the odd sale of huge T shirts') raised a few pieces of urgently needed
silver to assist with the GCE overdraft situation. Likewise, CD albums sold well (or was that 'well seedy albums sold'?)
The evening was nicely brought to an end with Pete and Tom 'The' Pope performing, by special request of Hallow dignitaries, 'Hallow Llama Drama'.
